A considered organisation, by design.
Decorum Care Homes is a new provider, but it is not hurried. Our leadership, governance, and values were set down before we opened a door.
Dignity
We treat young people, and one another, as capable, reasonable, worthy of care.
Honesty
We tell the truth to young people, to families, to commissioners, to inspectors.
Consistency
We do what we said we would, on the days when it is easy and on the days when it is not.
Curiosity
We are interested in the young person in front of us, not a category they fit into.
The people answerable for the home.
Accountable to Ofsted for the conduct of the home. Sets strategic direction, chairs governance meetings, and visits the home regularly.
Day-to-day leadership of the home, designated safeguarding lead, line manager to the care team, and principal point of contact for commissioners.
Supports the Registered Manager across operational areas, deputises in their absence, and contributes to strategic planning and day-to-day leadership.
How decisions are made.
Our Responsible Individual chairs a governance meeting with the Registered Manager and Deputy. These meetings review practice, safeguarding, staffing, young people's progress, and quality of care. Decisions that affect young people are taken by people accountable for them.
Regulation 44 independent visits are welcomed and acted on. Regulation 45 quality of care reviews are completed every six months and shared with Ofsted and the placing authorities.
